The Good News

Like the name of our church, the Good News is that of complete restoration…

The Good News: God created us for the same reason most parents have kids, to share in a growing, loving relationship, and He gave us the completely free choice to love or reject Him.

The Bad News: Each of us has done wrong and severed our relationship with God.  If God has any sense of justice, He must punish sin.  We should be separated from Him and have to bear eternal consequences for our wrong choices.  However…

The Best News: Because of God’s unconditional love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus, to take our place as He died on the cross for our sins.  Anyone can die on the cross, but Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, demonstrating that He is indeed God the Son, with ultimate victory over sin and death.  He offers us that same victory and a restored relationship with Him if we believe and commit to Him as Lord and Savior of our lives.

CS Lewis said that the difference between Christianity and all other religions is grace.  Truly, He loved us and sacrificed everything for us while we were sinning against Him and before we even cleaned up our acts.  Acknowledging Him as Lord and Savior is simply a response to His grace.  How will you respond?
