URC Weekly 7/31/2011: Holy Spirit Strikes Again
Hi Family!
On this past Friday, we met for Community Group at the Lim’s (thank you), where we had good food, good company, and good presence of the Holy Spirit. We went over Psalm 23 using Lectio Divina (medieval style of Bible study used by Christian monks) and God spoke amazingly to each one of us in themes of restoration. Specifically, God used Tae and his awesome writing skills to encourage us all (remember A Beastly Lament). God speaks to Tae and a piece of eloquent poetry just flows out. Praise God. Thank you, Tae. I present it to you now:
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
When I’m headstrong, I’m broken.
When I look to preserve, everything is lost.
When I stand alone, I lack everything.
In my Lord I am made whole,
In my Lord I’ve gained a life worth keeping.
In my Lord, I am not alone and I have all that I need and all that I want.
Shallow waters I tread…alone and afraid.
The depth of ties and values…all illusions born of deceitful hearts.
Angry I trudge along…resentful and hurt,
The pebbles in this shallow stream…cut deeply into my weary feet.
The Lord is my shepherd I am no longer in need,
But I have found the keeper of my heart.
And through him my soul has finally earned the right to cry an earnest cry.
