Happy New Year family! The 2011th year of God giving us our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is here! Praise God. It is because He loves us that He has created us, sent His only Son to die for us, and hence gave us eternal life. Praise God for the greatest gift of all, the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ!
Unfortunately, many Christians today have a serious misunderstanding that believing in Jesus results in prosperity, comfort, and success. Jesus never promised us these things, but He did guarantee one thing: Love. God’s love is easily misunderstood because it is so strikingly different than the worldly, limited, and conditional love with which we are all too familiar with. We must understand and appreciate God’s love in the light of eternity that we are given. We are all going to live forever! Isn’t this awesome?
We all had our shares of hardships in 2010, and this year may not be any different. In fact, 2011 may be even more difficult. Yet this doesn’t really matter when we remember that we are heaven-bound, reserved as VIP’s in God’s glorious kingdom filled with incredible wonders and immeasurable joy.
Then why live? What is the point of living when we have something so much greater after this life? Well, love! God says: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this, all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another (John 13:34-35).” Love should be the driving force behind our lives, no matter what the situation. Brothers and sisters, let’s love one another. Let’s love one another in a way that people around us may come to know Christ.
I can’t describe how grateful I am to be part of this family. I love you.
1)Pray for the Harty’s: Please continue to pray for James and Angela in thanksgiving that they were not more seriously injured and ask our Lord to bring quick healing and smooth recovery. It would also be nice if you show them love by calling them to see how they are doing. Let’s love our family members during in difficult time as Jesus loves all of us.
2)Pray for the Lee’s: Please also continue to pray for Sang and Grace. God has not opened doors for Sang yet in regards to ministry for people with disabilities but let’s stay faithful and keep lifting them up to our God who is in control of our lives.
