Hi Church,
I feel like I saw y’all every day last week, and it was pretty awesome. Kids flying down inflated water slides, eating curry rice together with the “SonQuest Rainforest” theme song playing 300 times in a row, and the sound of children worshiping. I could be there every day, and there’s a glimpse of how Paul rejoiced in the Lord. Let’s build on this and continue to come together for God’s ministries, not for duty’s sake, but for the sake of knowing Christ in the midst of it all. Speaking of knowing Christ…
1) COMMUNITY GROUP: THIS FRIDAY @ 7 PM @ TAE/SARA’S. Case for Faith, Part III. We established that evil exists in the world, not because God created evil, but God created relationships, which have the choice of love or rejection. That’s the foundation, and now we’ll get to more specific questions. Of course, to tackle the problem of evil, we’ll first need a potluck feast and some good fellowship…
2) HYONROH GUEST PREACHING: THIS SUNDAY @ 11 AM. The Professor will be delivering the Word for another church this Sunday, so remember to encourage him and empower him through your prayers.
3) COORDINATORS’ MEETING: THIS SUNDAY @ 1 PM. I know it’s July 4th, but it’s a busy time at church, and let’s meet to plan for the summer season. Please be prepared in prayer and for leading the agenda for your area of ministry. If you cannot make it for family reasons, please let me know ASAP.
4) SPRING CLEANING: THANK YOU to all the vacuumers, trash guys, sweepers, steamers, movers, and organizers. Our Living Room looks more like a living room, and now we just need some updated furniture. Stay tuned…
5) SAT PREP: A WEEK FROM SATURDAY (7/10). It’s time for the 2nd session. PLEASE HELP the Professor by proctoring for just one exam, so serving the Lord doesn’t automatically equal having no social life.
6) WORSHIP @ THE BEACH: A WEEK FROM SUNDAY (7/11). We’ll go to Huntington Beach, have our Sunday worship there, and then hang out and make a fire. Youth Group and/or KM may join. Practice for beach camping…
7) SCRIPTURE READING/OFFERING: Jacob Kang
8 ) DEVOTIONS: Isaiah 64-Jeremiah 3:
17 “Behold, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
19 I will rejoice over Jerusalem
and take delight in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying
will be heard in it no more.
20 “Never again will there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;
he who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere youth;
he who fails to reach [a] a hundred
will be considered accursed.”
Can’t wait till heaven, but we’re living with a little more of it every day we advance the kingdom of God.
