Hi Sisters and Brothers,
Top four holidays of the calendar year: 1) Easter; 2) Christmas; 3) White Day; 4) Thanksgiving. #3 is coming this Saturday, and I wish each of those gift boxes in the picture had a steak in them (the little one hanging on the tree can have a filet mignon, since it’s small). Before I take this any further over the edge, the brothers are excited for a night of fellowship and are loving the sisters for their service. THANK YOU, and we can’t wait to open gifts…
1) AGAPE HOME MISSION: YESTERDAY. I feel like I can hang out there forever, and coming for the second time, it was a lot more familiar and much easier to talk to friends @ Agape. We feasted on delicious spaghetti, met some kiddos and a teen, and had some great conversations. The worship was powerful and Spirit-filled once again. Hyonroh did an excellent job translating and shared a raw testimony of the power of resurrection in his life, while Hyunjoo may have been the first female praise leader, as well as the first to introduce non-hymnal praise songs. The only disappointment was that there were just five of us. I know some of you couldn’t make it for legit reasons, but since we only go every couple of months, let’s try to plan our schedules around Agape next time.
2) TNF: THIS THURSDAY @ 7 PM @ YOKO HOUSE OF DONKATSU (Beach/Rosecrans in Buena Park/Fullerton). Sam’s quote: “Pretty good. Average ticket price $10. Neat experience. Good portions.” What more to say?
3) WHITE DAY: THIS SATURDAY @ 5 PM @ THE HARTYS’ (3245 Sagewood Ln., Corona, 92882). YES! Message below from Jane, also on the facebook event page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=110176949023300 (please RSVP on that page, so they know how many to cook for):
Hey URC Boys…
Hope you’re ready to be wined, dined, and majorly appreciated on White Day.
Here’s some additional info…
Dress code: Dress to impress =) Slacks and button down shirts…no excuses…if you don’t have slacks, you should purchase some since Sam and Charlene’s wedding is around the corner!!! =) (You can bring a change of clothes so you can get comfy later)
Starting time is @ 5 pm…NOT 6 pm… The meal will be served promptly, so if you snooze you lose…remember, we’re serving prime rib and may run out!!! =)
See you all Saturday! xoxo The girls
4) AUSTIN’S SENDOFF: THIS SUNDAY @ WORSHIP/LUNCH. Can’t believe it’s already time, but Austin will be off to basic training in Georgia for the next several months. He’ll share more with us on Sunday, and we’ll pray for him as a church. We’ll go out for lunch together after service, as we send our brother off. Please pray for him continually, starting now.
5) SCRIPTURE READING/OFFERING: Audrey Lee
6) DEVOTIONS: Isaiah 4-9: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall we send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (6:8)
Let’s answer His call and go with boldness to the lost…
