Union Weekly 10/4/09: TGIF!
Hi Everyone,
It’s October, we’re all in the full swing of school/work, and summer feels like a long time ago. The one advantage: TGIF means something again. We get to look forward to the weekend, and this coming one has much to anticipate:
1) COMMUNITY GROUP: THIS FRIDAY @ 7 PM @ SANG/GRACE’S. Last time, we studied the content of prayer: Praying from an intimate Father/child relationship, honoring God, seeking the furthering of His mission, and asking for our needs (daily bread and daily forgiveness, our need to forgive others, and deliverance from tests of faith). This week, we’ll learn about the attitude of prayer. As always, food and games will follow…
2) HAPPY BIRTHDAY AYDEN! THIS SATURDAY @ 1 PM @ JAMES/ANGELA’S. The big, happy guy is gonna be 2, and we’re gonna celebrate! 3) UNLEASHING BEAUTY: THIS SATURDAY @ 9 AM @ NEWSONG CHURCH (IRVINE). 1-day leadership conference on “justice, loving the outsider and radical sacrifice” for those who want to change their local/global communities in these times of economic crisis. 4) FRESH 2009: THIS SATURDAY @ 6 PM @ LA CONVENTION CENTER (3911 S. Figueroa St.). Outreach/concert event, featuring David Crowder Band and preacher Francis Chan. Tix are $30 @ fresh2009.org.
5) PRAISE TEAM BIBLE STUDY: THIS SUNDAY @ 1 PM. Remember to do your homework…
6) V-BALL PRACTICE: THIS SUNDAY @ 1:30 PM. Next Sunday (10/18), UMEC is coming over to scrimmage for our final practice. Still working on getting another church to come over for this Sunday.
7) SCRIPTURE READING/OFFERING: Hyonroh Lee
8 ) DEVOTIONS: Psalm 77-82 (“I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.”)
