URC Weekly 9/6/09: CG is Back



Hi Gang,

Back from a great wedding weekend in Vancouver, and I’m grateful for your prayers, as I got to see a few old friends and make a bunch of new ones.  I did feel the pressure of being best man and emcee, but a fun crowd and awesome bridal party made it all work.  The only ride to church I could get on Sunday was to a Catholic one, and while there was so much sacredness and reverence to the service, I missed Union like crazy.  I heard worship back home was excellent, and I know God alone is head of our church.  Can’t wait to see y’all…

1) CG: THIS FRIDAY @ 7 PM @ SANG/GRACE’S (1907 Delta Ave., Rosemead, 91770).  It’s been a month since our last CG (Youth Retreat, I was away last weekend), but it’s on this weekend!  Potluck, praise, Bible study, prayer, fellowship.  Everything you need for a Friday night…

2) THANKS TO URC PARENTS: This Sunday, we need to sign “thank you” cards for David Lee’s parents (donating our Living Room floors) and Chris Kang’s parents (providing last week’s and this week’s lunches).  Send along any gift ideas that might accompany the cards.  For this Sunday’s lunch, girlz are choosing.  Please let the only vegetables in our meal be those in our burgers/tacos.

3) COORDINATORS’ MEETING: THIS SUNDAY @ 1 PM.  Please come with updates in your ministry and ideas on how to develop prayer within our church.

4) VBALL PRACTICE: NOT THIS SUNDAY.  The tourney has been moved to Saturday, 10/24, so circle the date like it’s your wedding or the birth of your next child.

5) LUNCH FOR THE CHURCH: POSTPONED TO SUNDAY, 9/20.  We’re cooking for everyone to redeem ourselves, so bring ideas for a meal next Sunday and we’ll begin shopping.

6) SCRIPTURE READING/OFFERING: Ludia Cha

7) DEVOTIONS: Psalm 53-58 (“In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise – In God I trust; I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?”)
