URC Weekly 9/16/09: MORe X Youth Retreat
This abstract pic is from the MORe Youth Retreat (Ministry of Renewal) two years ago, when about 200 students and leaders gathered for a week of worship, games, activities, skits, sports, small group discussions, and prayer. This year is the historic MORe X, the 10th year of a ministry that began when some of you were eight years old. After months of prayer, preparation, and meetings, the students and leaders went up to Big Bear this afternoon and will be there till Friday. Please cover the entire retreat and all its participants in your prayers of conviction and power. Just a couple of announcements besides the retreat:
1) VOLLEYBALL PRACTICE: THIS SUNDAY @ 1:30 PM @ PALMDALE PARK. The tournament is scheduled for 10/17, and after being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last year, we’re out for revenge. Join us for practice or to hang out.
2) SCRIPTURE READING/OFFERING: Sharon Lee
3) DEVOTIONS: Psalm 35-40 (“Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.”)
