URC Weekly 6/14/09: WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!
Hi Everyone,
Description of a perfect day: Worship and fellowship, BBQ @ James/Angela’s, and the Lakers win the championship. Is that what every day is like in heaven? After the Lakers won the championship, I felt satisfied. Not ecstatic and overjoyed, but satisfied, like I had eaten the perfect, juicy ribeye steak. Afterwards, I just wanted to watch highlights, listen to the radio, and enjoy every moment. That’s how I think we’ll feel after many of the ministries we’re preparing for this summer:
1) ANDY’S GRADUATION: THIS WED. Last, but not least, and we look forward to Andy, Michelle, Hana, and Austin’s arrival to the Family the first Sunday of July.
2) CG: THIS FRIDAY @ 7 PM @ SANG/GRACE’S. Last CG we witnessed a disgusting pile of McDonald’s burgers from three or four different people (I brought 15, haha). This inspired James Kim to take a double cheeseburger, add another beef/cheese patty, add chicken nuggets and BBQ sauce, and create the most wonderously sickening burger in the history of the world. Maybe we should go vegetarian to balance it out. But maybe not. Hyonroh “The Professor” will lead Bible study. Grace and I will be driving from San Francisco, so pray for light traffic.
3) MISSIONS MEETING: THIS SATURDAY @ 4 PM IN BUILDING A. Less than two weeks left and much to prepare. Let’s continue to pray deeply…
4) HUNTINGTON BEACH AND PARENT OUTING POSTPONED: Sorry, due to missions meeting and praise practice, Huntington Beach will be moved to 7/18. Ironically, due to Father’s Day, parent outing is postponed again, and I wonder if parent outing or Sports Sunday will happen in my lifetime…
5) DISCIPLESHIP THIS SUNDAY: Last week, parents were talking through some deep issues, while I heard constant, wild laughter from the singles room. Hmmm… John and David were leading, so shadiness for sure. This Sunday, a break from discipleship for singles, except we’ll need you to watch our kiddos.
6) PRAISE TEAM BIBLE STUDY: THIS SUNDAY AFTER DISCIPLESHIP. Remember to do your homework…
7) JESUS WALKS…WITH YOU: SUNDAY, 7/12 @ 6 PM. Save the date, invite a crowd. One change: We’re gonna have it in the large sanctuary across the street to accomodate more people.
