Union Weekly 3/29/09: Last Supper



Hi Gang,

I’m still full from that enormous red crab and that Mt. Everest of potatoes, corn, sausages, and shrimp.  Crab Feast 2009 somehow topped 2008, and I think by 2010, it’ll be the LA equivalent of Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Oktoberfest in Germany.  A Mt. Everest of thank you’s to the organizer (Sara), chef (Tae), hosts (James/Angela), truck driver (Ray), and set up/clean up crew (everyone else).

1) UNIONRESTORATION.ORG COMMENTS: I changed the settings, so comments should pop up right away on any page.  Our goal is to make you spend more time on unionrestoration.org than facebook.com…

2) NIV ONLINE: Some of you have asked about finding verses with certain words/themes, and I use the following site all the time: www.ibsstl.org.  You can look up specific chapters/verses or search words in the Bible.  If you can’t find something after searching, make sure “New International Version” is checked in the left column instead of “Today’s New International Version.”

3) CG: THIS FRIDAY @ 7 PM @ SANG/GRACE’S (POTLUCK ).  It’s not Crab Feast, but as we study the Passover meal that Jesus and the 12 celebrated for their Last Supper, we’ll have some Jewish Passover food…

4) SAVE THE DATES:

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE (Fri., 4/10 @ 8 PM): URC service in the English Sanctuary, followed by cross-carrying ceremony with entire church

COMMUNITY SERVICE (Sat., 4/11): We’ll serve food/supplies to those in need @ an R2B hip-hop concert/ministry event in a community park

EASTER JOINT SERVICE (Sun., 4/12 @ 10:30 AM): Worshipping the risen Lord… side by side with family members… one hour later… on John’s birthday.  Hallelujah!
